01ABOUT THE CLUB

Built for Learning.
Driven by Research.

Real questions. Practical experience.
Learning through the work itself.

Founded by Fernando Landivar, Centauri brings the spirit of a finance club to an independent student passion project. We study businesses and economies, test ideas with simulated capital, build analytical tools, and share what we learn.

The club is currently founder-led and developing. It is created by students, for students, with a simple ambition: make finance a subject we can explore together through questions, practical projects, and thoughtful discussion.

About this student project

What is Centauri Investment Group?

Centauri is an independent, developing student finance club and educational passion project founded by Fernando Landivar. We research companies and economies, build quantitative tools, and share what we learn. We are not affiliated with a commercial investment firm.

Can I invest real money in MARLEY?

No. MARLEY 2026–2027 is a simulated educational portfolio. Its $1,000,000 starting NAV represents paper capital, not money held for investors. Centauri does not accept deposits or investor funds, manage money for others, or offer investment services or advice.

How can students get involved?

02LEARNING THROUGH PORTFOLIOS

Our Funds

Simulated capital.
Real decisions to learn from.

Our educational portfolios are a place to test research, track decisions, and reflect on the results. MARLEY is our first simulated fund.

A thesis, put into practice.

MARLEY is an actively managed educational portfolio with simulated capital. Its objective is to generate excess returns over the S&P 500 while maintaining disciplined risk management. Every decision is an opportunity to test our reasoning.

03HOW WE THINK

Our Investment Philosophy

Document the idea.
Review what it teaches us.

01

Research Before Capital

Investment decisions begin with a clearly documented thesis. Understand the business, the valuation, and the opportunity before committing simulated capital.

02

Concentration With Conviction

Focus capital where research identifies the strongest opportunities. Every position should earn its place in the portfolio.

03

Risk Is Part of the Thesis

Consider position sizing, valuation, macroeconomic conditions, and thesis invalidation before and after entering a position.

04

Adapt When Evidence Changes

Review the thesis when earnings, valuations, management, industry conditions, or macroeconomic conditions materially change.

04IDEAS & ANALYSIS

Research & Insights

Understand the business.
Question the assumptions.
